What is this course about?
This course is designed to introduce you to a range of skills that will enable you to write effectively in an academic context. This is often an area that new academics like you are most concerned about. That their scholarly presentation may not do full justice to the depths of their knowledge and learning
How is the course structured?
This is a self-paced learning resource. Once you have logged in or signed in you will see that there are 4 sections to the course.
Section 1: Introduction to the course.
Please complete the pre-course questionnaire in this section before moving on to the rest of the course.
Section 2: Writing Foundations
The modules in this section of the course will explore the building blocks of good writing.
Section 3: A Writer's Toolkit
This section will introduce you to a variety of strategies for developing good academic writing skills.
Section 4: My Writing Plan
This section will enable you to track the progress of your writing skills over time and help you develop a framework for your own writing programme.
At different points in the course there will be opportunities for you to reflect on what you have learned. You will be able to review what you have done during this course at the end.
